Summary of WWE NXT Results on August 1, 2023.

The latest episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network began with a tribute graphic in memory of the late "Exotic" Adrian Street, who passed away on July 24 at the age of 82. The show then aired a video package showcasing highlights from the recent Premium Live Event that took place on Sunday.

Moving to the backstage area at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, Vic Joseph welcomed viewers and was joined at ringside by WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. A black SUV arrived, and NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo emerged from it. However, as soon as they stepped out of the vehicle, they were attacked by Gallus. The assailants triple-teamed the champions while Joe Coffey taunted them. After the brutal attack, Gallus left The Family members laid out in the parking lot.

Lyra Valkyria vs. Jacy Jayne

Jacy Jayne interrupts the announcers to declare that she will finish what she started with Lyra Valkyria at The Great American Bash, and this time, no one will intervene. Lyra Valkyria makes her entrance as Alicia Taylor introduces her.

Before the match officially begins, Jayne attacks Lyra at the entrance-way, taking the fight to ringside where she receives boos from the crowd. The bell rings, and Jayne aggressively dominates Lyra in the corner. Lyra fights back and manages to slam Jayne for a near fall. However, Jayne retaliates with two strong kicks for a close two-count. The referee warns Jayne about her actions in the corner.

Lyra gains momentum and knocks Jayne to the floor, then launches herself over the top rope to attack her outside the ring. The brawl continues as the show goes to a commercial break.

After the break, the match resumes with Jayne maintaining control during the break. The two competitors exchange offense in a back-and-forth manner. Jayne drops Lyra and hits a big dropkick for another near fall. She sits up and laughs, displaying her confidence.

The fans rally for Lyra as Jayne continues to kick her around. Lyra catches one of Jayne's kicks and counters with powerful strikes, eventually dropping Jayne to the floor. Lyra charges and takes down Jayne outside the ring, then brings her back in for a top rope crossbody and a Northern Lights suplex, nearly securing the victory.

The crowd continues to support Lyra as she talks trash to Jayne while the latter is on her knees. Jayne manages to fight back and hits a Spinebuster in the middle of the ring but can't secure the pinfall.

Jayne grows frustrated and forcefully rams Lyra into the corner, with the referee warning her once again. They trade strikes, but Lyra gains the upper hand, dropping Jayne. Lyra climbs back up to the top rope and lands a big splash, securing the pinfall for the victory.

Winner: Lyra Valkyria

- The post-match segment begins with Jacy Jayne interrupting the announcers and declaring her intention to finish what she started with Lyra Valkyria at The Great American Bash without any interference this time. Jayne attacks Lyra at the entrance-way, and the brawl continues to ringside where Jayne nails Lyra off the apron to a negative reaction from the audience. The match is officially started, and Jayne dominates Lyra in the corner with a series of powerful strikes. However, Lyra fights back and manages to slam Jayne, getting a two-count near fall. Jayne responds with stiff kicks, almost securing the pin. After a commercial break, Jayne maintains control. The match sees several back-and-forth moments, but Lyra eventually gains momentum and secures the victory with a top rope crossbody and a Northern Lights suplex.

- NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes is backstage with Trick Williams discussing the main event of The Bash where Hayes retained his title against Ilja Dragunov. Trick explains why he grabbed the title belt during the match to motivate Hayes. Hayes thanks Trick for the support. Trick then expresses his desire to start doing things for himself and announces that he wants to face Dragunov. They share a moment of respect and love, and Trick decides to go his own way.

- NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio and WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley are seen walking backstage. They are interrupted by Dragon Lee, who criticizes Dominik's claims of being the "greatest luchador" and asserts that Rey Mysterio is the true legend in lucha libre. An argument ensues, and Dragon challenges Dominik to defend his title next week. Dominik accepts the challenge, and Ripley promises to be in his corner. Dragon reveals that he won't be alone and that WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio will accompany him. Rey appears on the big screen to confirm his presence and express his excitement for the match.

- NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes encounters an angry Wes Lee backstage, who expresses frustration over his recent losses. Lee and Hayes exchange words about what it takes to be champion, and a confrontation ensues between Lee's group, Meta-Four, and Noam Dar. Officials intervene to prevent a full-blown fight.

Dijak vs. Eddy Thorpe

Eddy Thorpe makes his way to the ring, and the show goes to a commercial break.

After the break, still images from The Great American Bash are shown. McKenzie Mitchell interviews a disappointed Thea Hail backstage, who expresses her disappointment in losing to NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton but asserts that she gave her best effort and never gave up. Andre Chase, who threw the towel during the match, and Duke Hudson are also present and start arguing. Baron Corbin approaches the scene and interrupts the interview. Corbin dismisses Hail and makes derogatory comments about her abilities, saying this job is not for everyone and that she has already reached her peak. Chase stands up to Corbin, defending Hail and calling Corbin derogatory names. They exchange words, and Corbin walks away. Chase assures Hail that he won't allow Corbin to talk to her in that manner.

Back in the ring, Dijak makes his entrance while Thorpe watches from the ring.

The match begins with Dijak charging at Thorpe with a big boot, but Thorpe dodges it and retaliates with strikes. Thorpe manages to dropkick Dijak into the corner.

The match becomes a back-and-forth contest between the two wrestlers. Dijak gains control and unleashes a big sit-out chokeslam in the center of the ring, coming close to a two-count pinfall.
