Parsons delivered a standout performance, accumulating 37 points and 16 rebounds, earning him the MVP title. Despite falling short of his halftime prediction of scoring 40 points, Parsons played a pivotal role in securing the win for Team Shannon. The game saw a decisive moment when, with 4:53 remaining and the score tied at 78-78, Team Shannon, fueled by key contributions from Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua (16 points) and actor Dylan Wang, scored back-to-back 4-point possessions, establishing a 12-point lead. Parsons and Nacua continued to shine, sealing the victory for Team Shannon. The game was played on an innovative court illuminated by 25 million LEDs.Micah Parsons dominated the 2024 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, securing the MVP title with an impressive performance marked by powerful dunks, aggressive drives, and a display of various skills, showcasing both strength and aggression. Puka Nacua also contributed with highlight dunks for Team Shannon against Team Stephen A, led by C.J. Stroud, Tristan Jass, and Olympic high jump gold medalist Gianmarco Tamberi.
ESPN personalities Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe stepped onto the basketball court as coaches for their respective teams, setting aside their usual debate stage on "First Take." Rapper 50 Cent assisted Sharpe, while Lil Wayne and Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson joined Smith's staff. The game, held at Lucas Oil Stadium, featured a mix of celebrities from entertainment and sports, including NFL receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., Jennifer Hudson, Metta World Peace, Conor Daly, AJ McLean, Walker Hayes, SiR, Adam Blackstone, Lilly Singh, Dylan Wang, Quincy Isaiah, Kai Cenat, Tristan Jass, Jack Ryan, and Kwame Onwuachi.
The broadcast, hosted by Cassidy Hubbarth, featured play-by-play commentary from Ryan Ruocco, alongside analysts Richard Jefferson and Monica McNutt, with a special appearance by Pat McAfee. The player rosters included a diverse lineup, with Jennifer Hudson, Metta World Peace, Micah Parsons, CJ Stroud, Conor Daly, AJ McLean, Walker Hayes, SiR, Adam Blackstone, Lilly Singh, Dylan Wang, Quincy Isaiah, Kai Cenat, Tristan Jass, Jack Ryan, Kwame Onwuachi, Gianmarco Tamberi, and Anuel AA, among others. Coaching the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game were ESPN NBA Analyst and First Take personality Stephen A. Smith, who faced off against his First Take co-star and Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe. The coaching staff for Team Shannon also featured Grammy Award-winning recording artist Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. On the opposing side, Team Stephen A. was coached by two-time WNBA Champion and two-time WNBA M.V.P. A’ja Wilson, alongside five-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist and global icon Lil Wayne.
An exciting addition to this year's game was the introduction of an innovative LED court, showcasing various animation capabilities throughout the event, including a dynamic three-point line, court graphics, and more. The game also brought back fan-favorite elements like the Ruffles® 4-Point Ridgeline and Ruffles® Crunch Time. A new feature, the Ruffles® Flamin’ Hot Challenge, made its debut as a one-minute relay-style shooting contest.
