Derrick Henry is set to join forces with Lamar Jackson at the Baltimore Ravens.

Derrick Henry, a free agent running back, has officially announced on social media that he is entering a two-year agreement with the Baltimore Ravens. This move enhances the team's already top-ranked rushing attack from the previous NFL season. According to various reports, the contract is valued at $16 million, potentially reaching up to $20 million, with the first year securing $9 million in guaranteed earnings with the Ravens.

Henry expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Ravens with a social media post, stating, "Flock Nation I swea it’s up!"

The two-time NFL rushing champion is now part of the Baltimore Ravens, a team known for consistently fielding one of the league's top rushing offenses each year. The running back situation was a significant point of focus for the Ravens during the offseason, especially with Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins heading into free agency. Recently, Gus Edwards secured a two-year, $6.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday.

At 30 years old, Derrick Henry holds the record for the most touchdowns scored in the history of the Tennessee Titans, totaling 93. Additionally, he ranks second in franchise history for rushing yards with 9,502. His standout performance in 2020 earned him the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year award, rushing for an impressive 2,027 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns. Henry played a pivotal role in guiding the Titans to the playoffs on four occasions.

Henry earned his fourth Pro Bowl selection in five years after leading the NFL in carries (280) during the previous season's 17 games with the Titans. Accumulating 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns, it marked his fifth season surpassing 1,000 yards, including a standout 2,027-yard performance in 2020 that earned him first-team All-Pro honors.

The Titans signaled their move away from Henry by securing a three-year, $24 million contract with former Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard on Monday.

In Baltimore, Henry will join forces with Lamar Jackson, creating one of the league's most formidable backfield tandems. The Ravens, who led in rushing attempts per game, rushing yards per game, and yards per carry in 2023, will benefit from Henry's addition in alleviating some of the workload on Jackson, a two-time league MVP known for his running abilities. The Ravens had attempted to trade for Henry before the previous season's trade deadline but couldn't reach an agreement with Tennessee.

Despite finishing the 2023 regular season with the NFL's best record, the Ravens fell short in the AFC championship game against Kansas City.

In other NFL developments, running back Aaron Jones agreed to a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings after being released by the Green Bay Packers on Monday. Additionally, the Cincinnati Bengals traded running back Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans in exchange for a late-round pick.
